Safeguarding

Our Club Welfare Officer is Sian Haycock [email protected] 07894734997 – her role is to make sure the club runs activities for young people safely and responsibly, and adheres to the FA’s safeguarding policies. Our aim is to create a fun, safe environment with the safeguarding of children at its core. Please contact Sian if you have any safeguarding concerns or want to discuss anything at all.
All the football managers and assistants at Benson United are DBS checked (Disclosure and Barring Service), and at least one coach (usually the manager) in each team will always have an in-date first aid certificate, ‘safeguarding children’ certificate, and Level 1 coaching qualification.
“The Club” obviously includes all our coaches and football managers, but also all the parents/carers, children, referees, committee members etc. – we all need to adhere to the FA’s RESPECT code, which gives the standard of behaviour that is expected in football for everyone. All the RESPECT Codes of Conduct, anti-bullying policy, equality policy and resources that BUFC uses can be found here. We also adhere to the FA’s Best Practice policies.
